The professional path of GB / Galya Biryukova has developed through the consistent evolution of an authorial fashion house, combining collection-based fashion, artistic projects, and work for stage and media.
At a specific stage of professional development, the fashion house operated under the name KGB (Kolya & Galya Biryukovy) as a collaborative creative format with artist Nikolay Biryukov. Under this name, runway shows, collections, and international cultural projects were realized.
All projects presented in this portfolio are part of a single professional trajectory and reflect the continuous development of the authorial fashion house led by Galya Biryukova.

Professional path

Education at the House of Fashion of Vyacheslav Zaitsev

Slava Zaitsev Fashion Lab
Galya Biryukova studied full-time at the Slava Zaitsev Fashion Lab at the House of Fashion in Moscow. She graduated with honors and special commendation in her diploma, earning the qualification of fashion designer.
During her studies, she created her diploma collection Rotterdam, which was immediately presented on the runway of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia at the Manege and received high professional recognition from Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Zaitsev.
This period marked the starting point of her professional career, defined by an early entry into the runway scene, a strong focus on form and construction, and the development of an authorial approach that has since shaped the evolution of her brand and collection practice.

Admission to the Moscow Union of Artists (MSH) and the Association of Decorative Arts Artists (AHDA)

Galya Biryukova was admitted to the Moscow Union of Artists and the Association of Decorative Arts Artists following a professional review and evaluation of her work by an expert committee. As part of the admission process, authorial collections and projects were presented, including the Rotterdam collection and the marine-themed collection Gulfstream.
One of the key recommendations for admission was provided by Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Zaitsev. Admission to the Moscow Union of Artists marked an important stage of professional recognition and confirmed her professional status in the field of fashion.

First Prize at the Nadezhda Lamanova Professional Fashion Designers Competition

Galya Biryukova’s collection Mouliné was awarded First Prize at the Nadezhda Lamanova Professional Fashion Designers Competition. The Nadezhda Lamanova Competition is a significant professional platform in the field of author-driven fashion, supporting designers who work with form, construction, and a thoughtful approach to costume. This award marked an important milestone in the designer’s professional path and confirmed the high level of her authorial work and project-based thinking.

Participation in the International Cultural Project Transformations

Forum of Slavic Cultures (Ljubljana, Slovenia)
Galya Biryukova and the brand GB / Galya Biryukova (at the time of participation presented under the KGB / KolyaGalyaBiryukovy label) were selected to represent Russia in the international cultural project Transformations, initiated by the Forum of Slavic Cultures (Ljubljana, Slovenia).
As part of the project, the collection “Silver Ring” was presented, created by Galya Biryukova in collaboration with artist Nikolai Biryukov. The project brought together designers and artists from Slavic countries and was aimed at exploring contemporary cultural identity through fashion and art.
In October 2018, the “Silver Ring” collection was showcased at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia at the Central Exhibition Hall Manege in Moscow.
On November 14, 2019, within the framework of the 8th International Forum of Slavic Cultures, the collection was presented at the Russian Ethnographic Museum in Saint Petersburg during an official reception attended by ministers and representatives of international delegations.
In 2019, the “Silver Ring” collection was acquired by the art fund of the Forum of Slavic Cultures for its permanent collection. Participation in the Transformations project marked an important stage of international recognition and confirmed the brand’s professional status within the contemporary cultural and artistic context.

First Prize at the International Hat Exhibition "CHAPEAU"

The Gulfstream collection was awarded First Prize in the “Fashion” category at the International Hat Exhibition Chapeau. The Chapeau exhibition is one of the leading international professional platforms bringing together designers, artists, and producers working in the field of authorial headwear and fashion accessories. The award received by the Gulfstream collection in the “Fashion” category confirmed the high artistic level of the project and its professional recognition within an international context.

Collaboration with Europa Plus TV

During the period of collaboration with Europa Plus TV, the authorial fashion house GB / Galya Biryukova operated under the KGB/KolyaGalyaBiryukovy logo, within a collaborative creative format with artist Nikolay Biryukov. As part of this collaboration, stage costumes were created for television projects and hosts of Europa Plus TV, including the music program Hit Non-Stop 2019. The works were distinguished by strong visual impact, stage expressiveness, and precise adaptation to the format of television broadcasting and live performances. The collaboration with Europa Plus TV became an important part of the fashion house’s professional development and an experience of working at the intersection of fashion, stage, and media within an international television context.

Collaboration with Imperial Ice Stars

Galya Biryukova collaborated with the British ice theatre company Imperial Ice Stars, known for its stage interpretations of classical ballet productions on ice.
As part of this collaboration, costumes were created for selected stage looks in the productions “The Nutcracker” and “Cinderella”. These costumes were used in the company’s international performances and touring shows, including presentations in Berlin and at Royal Albert Hall in London. This collaboration became part of the designer’s international professional experience and her work with theatrical and stage-based formats.

Collaboration with Lavr Studio

During a specific period of professional development, a collaboration was realized with Lavr Studio within the framework of creating a costume for the documentary project “Ekhal Greka”, part of the series “Travels Through the Real Russia”.
For the project, an original costume was designed and produced for the host - actor Dimitris Georgiadis. The costume was developed specifically for the format of the production and its conceptual narrative, with reference to an artistic source and visual dramaturgy. This project became part of the professional experience of working with costume design for documentary and media formats.

Costume for a Music Video Project

During the collaboration with Europa Plus TV, an original stage costume was created for the singer Malbor for a music video production. The costume was specifically developed for the artist’s on-screen image, taking into account the format of video shooting and stage movement.
